The Joint Teaching Staff-Student Committee consists of an equal number of teachers and students, representing all Degree Programmes of the Department. It is chaired and coordinated by a professor chosen among the Committee members. To ensure impartiality, Degree Programmes Presidents, QA Group members, Department Directors/Faculty Presidents, Department Quality Supervisors, and departmental Quality Commission members cannot be part of the Joint Teaching Staff-Student Committee.
Purposes and Institutional Roles of the Joint Teaching Staff-Student Committee:
- Monitoring the educational offer and, in particular, the quality of teaching provided by the DESU degree programmes.
- Monitoring the quality of student services offered by the Department.
- Identifying quantitative indicators to evaluate the Department educational offer outcomes.
- Providing opinions on the activation and removal of degree programmes from the Department educational offer.
The results of these activities can be found in an Annual Report where the commission publicly offers a critical evaluation of the teaching and student services provided by the Department. Specifically, the Annual Report includes a series of improvement proposals formulated by the Joint Teaching Staff-Student Committee. The Annual Report is transmitted to the University Quality Assurance Office and the Evaluation Unit, attached to the Single Annual Report on Degree Programmes and presented and discussed in the Department Council to provide useful elements for the annual and cyclical review of the degree courses.
To ensure the impartiality of the committee, Presidents of Degree Programmes cannot be part of it. The current composition is as follows:
